In Our Community

2016 - Serving Community

In this section of our website you will discover how you can be involved in serving others not just within our church family, but also throughout the community.

Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre - Support, Education & Christian Love for those impacted by Pregnancy.

2015 was an exciting year of "unlocking doors!"  We saw continued growth and God's provision through it all.  It's with a heart of thanks that they look back on the year and see all that God has done.  From that foundation, there is growth in programs and services, establishment of satellite centres, and the opening of the CAPCC Maternity Home.

At both the Red Deer and the Olds Centres, there was growth in the number of people coming through our doors - in client numbers, programs, and volunteers being trained.  God continues to unlock doors in other communities in Central Alberta.  The door to Rocky Mountain House was opened in 2015 and they are looking to establish a satellite in Rocky by the end of 2016.

Please Pray:

  • For the establishment of a satellite location in Rocky Mountain House
  • For wisdom for the staff and volunteers as they fulfill His calling to serve clients at their point of need
  • For continued provision as they continue to grow

Kevin Korthius - Central Alberta Youth Unlimited

Youth Unlimited reaches young people everywhere, working together with the local Church and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to the Word of God and prayer, passion for sharing the love of Christ and commitment to social involvement.  Kevin has been with CAYU for 2.5 years now, but only full time for just over a year.  In this past year CAYU took over 250 students on missions trips and various other outings.  In his day-to-day involvement with students Kevin has seen so many amazing transformations.  He has seen students break addictions in our CAYU-Living Stones partnership, "The Landing" program, strong faith driven friendships formed between peers, and students seeking healing from depression and suicidal thoughts.  His greatest joy has been seeing students falling in love with Christ and recognizing His love for them.

Please Pray:

  • For students as they go through this confusing time of figuring out their identity and role in life
  • For Kevin to have strength to finish this school year well and for times of rest during the summer
  • For continued financial provision for Kevin as he serves with CAYU.
